so, I finally finished typing up my story. Unfortunately I am short by 10-15,000 words. According to Google, the average novel word-count is 80,000 words. The minimum for the Nebula Awards is 40,000. So I’m going to have to go back and see what scenes need more work and starting editing and proofreading. Hopefully, it won’t take a really long time. I’m rather anxious to share my work with others and get started on the next story. I have at least two other novels that I plan to write, making this a trilogy. I may also write a few short stories for the series, just to tie up loose ends. Everything is finally starting to take shape.

Wordcount

Thought I’d give you a quick update on how things are going. Right now I am at 20, 807 words, with 83 pages typed up. It’s amazing how far I have come working on this novel. I still worry sometimes that my final wordcount won’t be where I want it (I’m shooting for 40,000-50,000 at the minimum) but I know that it’s too early to worry about that right now. I just have to concentrate on typing and worry about the rest later. Happy writing to you!
